The Federal Government has ordered telecommunications companies in nigeria to place a ban on sim cards that are yet to be linked with the National Identification Number (NIN).

This has led to the restriction of customers lines, who are yet to do the NIN-SIM linkage, from making outgoing calls. Mobile networks like MTN, Glo, Airtel and 9mobile have already carried out the directives 

It was understood that the restrictions would be lifted ones the customer has been able to register for he/her NIN and link it to their sim cards.
